Using Your Will in Alignment with Divine Guidance

As we enter 2021, I felt called to write about finding the balance between using your will and following your inner guidance. Your will is the power you use to create things in the world. Your inner guidance is the promptings you receive from your higher self, spirit guides, and God as to the best path for your soul. Ideally, your will be in balance with your higher guidance. Finding the balance between the two is the sweet spot that will help you create beauty in your life and in the lives of those around you. Before my experience and before learning to heal, I used my will to create that which I wanted in my life. I did not have a sense of something higher...

Let your Old Self Grow

Along my path I've often felt like I have to completely release my old self as I embrace a newer, more healed version of myself. Embracing new aspects of myself on my path has been a cause of worry for me. This isn't who I was before. What will people think of me? Inner vs. Outer Worlds

One of my greatest coping mechanisms after my trauma was learning how to seem "okay" and even "successful" in my outer world as my inner world spun out of control. The technique helped me stop getting in trouble with my family, and helped me feel in control of my life. For a long time I even believed that I was okay because I had it all together on the outside. My heart kept calling out to me to heal beneath my successes through forms such as anxiety, insomnia, and depression. Friends from that time in my life might not have noticed, and I wonder if many of them may have...

Being True to Yourself

“This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” – Shakespeare “Betrayal of yourself in order not to betray another is betrayal nonetheless. Indeed, it is the highest betrayal.” – Conversations with God What does it mean to be true to yourself? It seems like such a simple concept, and at its heart, it is. Being true to yourself means honoring your own heart and living in your truth, even if it’s different from those around you. God created you, and you are just as you are meant to be. By living out your truth in this lifetime, you let your light shine as you were meant to do, and...

Being True to Yourself

“To thine own self be true. And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” – William Shakespeare Being true to yourself means honoring what is true for you by knowing and acting on your truth. It means being in touch with who you are and living into it, because you are a beautiful creation from God. It means listening to your heart and then taking steps to create what you found there. In my young life, it was harder for me to honor my truth. I was afraid of what people would think of me if I made changes in my life based on what I felt in my heart. I was timid about it. Writing and sharing...
